  57. I couldn't agree more...I just got it from Bob, and it is remarkable. I will be
  58. weeks in just getting below the surface.  I recommend it to one and all.  Does
  59. anyone know if ALDE is planning a sequel?

  81. interested in having the following issues addressed:
  82.          1. What companies are producing the best text
  83.             text retrieval engines.
  84.          2. What companies are producing the best engines for dealing
  85.             with vector graphic images.
  86.          3. What boards are available for use or 286 or 386 machines
  87.             that aid in compression of graphic images and what is the most
  88.             appropriate software.
  89.          4. Who produces the best filters for removing typesetting
  90.             codes from data being prepared for mastering.
  91.          5. Do private databases license their databases for applications
  92.             on CD and what are they generally demanding to give
  93.             licenses.

  95. Currently we have the Discovery Rom and the TMS disk but are currently seeking
  96. samples or demo disks that will demonstrate the possiblity of using CD in the
  97. following areas:

  99.         2) Catalog pricing

  120. Hello, I'm a new member and wanted to leave a note with my area off interest. I
  121. do AI applications under contract, and am interested in the CD/ROM and Optical
  122. disk area as a means of capaturing a great deal more historic information on
  123. line. I'm especially interested in learning about software interfaces to the
  124. PC, and efficient indexing into very large, non-structured, data. Bill Gibson
  125. By the way, I did a search onoptical and did not get any hits. Am I in the
